The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home by using a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South check here African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or intend to study at a general public university or TVET college in nsfas application South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
